Will old styles of music culture & sound come back from the dead, like hair metal and/or ska?

The 80′s gave us hair metal (think Motley Crue, Poison, the Sunset Strip, strip clubs, coke, women’s clothes on men) and new wave (aqua net hair, drum machines, a lot of keyboards, a varied mix of funk/punk/disco/gospel/rock, checkered patterns, day glow [neon], and lots of make-up on men)

The 90′s had ska (once again, checkered clothes, spiked hair with bleached tips, metal bead necklaces, dreads on white boys, skanking, Hawaiian shirts, bowling shirts, fedoras, and punkers & band geeks harmonizing together) AND grunge (Doc Martins, flannel shirts, heavily distorted rock, musical tempo of loud to soft to loud to soft, messy hair w/o gels or product, ripped jeans, worn concert tees, down tempo beats, and songs perfect for cloudy days).

What I am asking is, will musical scenes/history repeat themselves? Will we see grunge, hair metal, ska, or new wave make a serious replay?

Or will music as we know continue to get watered down with pop music, Jonas Brothers, radio Disney, and really bad neo-grunge from rednecks (think 3 Doors Down, Everlast, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, & Three Days Grace), and the winners and losers from American Idol?

Of the four scenes/sounds mentioned above, what will make the quickest return, why, and how long do you speculate it to last, and lastly, why will it die down again.

Please try to answer ALL of the above questions!
