Bauhaus or the Cure? Who’s the KING of Goth?

Siouxsie Sioux as Goth Queen?
not that the emo retards will know who I’m talking about…
one of their kind recently asked me “Who is Bela Lugosi”?
I INFORMED them as to Mr. Lugosi’s identity….Dracula and various roles he’d portrayed. I then asked them if they’d heard the song “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” by Bauhaus…..their reply….”Who’s Bauhaus”? ughhhhhhh……..I had to walk away….

Bands of the past 10 years need not apply
Christian Death definitly gets a seat in the royal court. Archduke of Gloom?
Sisters Of Mercy? There is definitly an arguement to be made for their work in the genre.
Kaferman5 listen to In The Holy Hour by The Cure or..Strange Day, Drowning Man.
Anything from Faith, 17 Seconds or Pornography.
Those tunes alone should make you a believer.

Joy Division – An Ideal For Living EP (part 1)

Joy Division were a British Post-Punk band formed in 1976 and disbanded in 1980 with the death of lead vocalist Ian Curtis. The remainder of the band went on to perform as New Order. Joy Division would have an enormous influence on the alternative and post-punk music of the 80s as well as the post-punk revival bands of the 00′s. The band are also said to of been the first Gothic Rock as the influenced many of the so called goth bands such as Bauhaus and The Cure (however I view goth rock as never existing as few people labeled Joy Division as goth and their sound was the same as Bauhaus).
