Reccomend any good goth bands (or similar ones to who I mention)?
filed in Goth Bands on May.15, 2009
I like goth music but I have listened to the stuff I've got so much I need something new, any reccomendations?
I also would like you to let me know of some bands that are similar to:
Emily Autumn
Siouxsie and the banshees
Bauhaus
Skinny puppy
(I dont want any negative comments on my taste in music. That is not the point of my question and therefore defeating the purpose of yahoo answers.)
Any serious suggestions are appreciated.
Great answers so far but (I loved The Birthday Massacare) but could I perhaps hear about some older artists too, like around the late 70's/early 80's.
Thanks to everyone who has replied so far.

Belfegore
Blood & Roses
Burning Image
Danielle Dax
Flowers for Agatha
Gloria Mundi
Kommunity FK
The Marionettes
The Merry Thoughts
Neva
Norma Loy

Red Lorry Yellow Lorry
Rubella Ballet

I'm not familiar with any of those bands, the only goth band I can think of is Birthday Massacre, it's a chick singer, she's really good. I saw them live in San Francisco a while ago. Hope you like them, I'd suggest Happy Birthday and Blue as the first songs you listen to. =)
Just thought about it, also maybe
Scarling – Band Aid Covers the Bullet Hole, Black Horse Riding Star
Jack off Jill – Nazi Halo, Losing His Touch

If you want to go really old school, then give Peter Murphy a try. He was one of the biggest influences on Gothic rock. Alien Sex Fiend and 45 Grave are also older. The Cure and The Cramps are great, too.

It's refreshing to see a younger Goth out there who's actually researching their music. And for that, I applaud you.
