The Cruxshadows, DragonCon 2008, “Eye of the Storm”

Use the high-quality viewing option for best results! This is The Cruxshadows at DragonCon 2008, with “Eye of the Storm.” Great live performance and the biggest concert at Dragon*Con again this year, eclipsing even Mindless Self Indulgence’s show.

Well, some people, like my mom, don’t mind – years of concerts and loud music have damaged her ears. Which I totally ignored
But it’s also great for people like my eldest who can’t see over the crush of people in front. I think I was just trying to say that the room was full, but there was still “room”.

The problem with Centennial Ballroom is that it’s a looong room, front to back. The video screens help a lot, but I can certainly see why people sitting in the farthest seats would try to move up.

Sad thing is there were still seats in back – but with all the people in front the room was at “capacity”. My husband took my 10 year old back because he couldn’t see in the crowd. Next year I’m going to try to get in the front so he can enjoy the concert fully.

The all-access pass was helpful for getting into the room a bit early, but is not necessary for using a camcorder at the CXS show; anyone could have brought one in.
The show DID “sell out” (the room was declared full and fans were turned away), so waiting in line seems to be a necessity. Good for the Cruxshadows, though!

I have taken many photos and some video of The Cruxshadows at the past three DragonCon’s but have been disappointed with the sound quality from my cheap camera. Thanks for the info. I envy you for having the all-access pass. I will be at DragonCon next year waiting in line again to see them perform. I love The Cruxshadows for their music and for how great they are with their fans.

This was a JVC Everio HDD camcorder. Can’t use camcorders at most shows, but Dragon*Con is a bit different. (Besides, I had an all-access badge.
)
I was frankly shocked at how well the Cruxshadows footage from Dragon*Con came out, sound-wise. (The original raw footage is better than what YouTube’s compression allows.)
This ended up being one of the best shows I’ve ever seen from them.
I don’t know if CXS can use any of these vids, but I’m in touch with Rogue about it.

Very nice. The sound quality is nice. What type camera?
