Where can I find the type of dark classical/opera music that influences Norwegian Black Metal?
October 23rd, 2008
I'm searching for sort of a powerful epic battle feel, similar to those that influence Norwegian Black Metal bands like Dimmu Borgir, etc. Probably a pretty far out question for a general "rock" category, but I have no idea where to start.
Start with Wagner and Stravinsky

plus Mussorgsy's Night On Bare Mountain

I forgot what website offers all the Norwegian Black Metal you want, but if you like Dimmu Borgir, you should listen to Behemoth or Immortal.
