Original Cruxshadows Guitarist Fronts Darkwave Band
December 23rd, 2008
Yep, you heard it. The info goes a little something like this:
“After founding (1992) and subsequently leaving the internationally known Crüxshadows, (1997) Tim spent his time studying the craft of music production. From 2002 - 2004, taking on the role of producer, he developed Girls on Film into a now nationally performing/recording act. In 2004, he aided ex-Crüxshadow Stacey Campbell in establishing her act, Spider Lilies, by producing two tracks, “Read Your Mind” and “Within.” He has since been focused on establishing Sapphire Rebellion as a national act, and tours twice a year in late April and late August.”

Goth day in R&P ( filling in charaters for yahoo)?

Name some Goth , darkwave, ect. bands that you like.
No Vivky its not wither /or. I think thye all fit nicely in that gotic genre.
Forgive the typos, I am only one my second cup of coffee.
MC BC, I want that Box set!!!!
I guess I'll start with darkwave. Deleyaman is a nice one, especially "Yergnain". Definitely something to listen to when you're in a slow or lazy mood, but still good. Helium Vola's pretty interesting as well. "Selig" is a perky song, lol.
Hungry Lucy, I've seen fall under a darkwave/trip hop sound. "Could It Be" is catchy (if darkwave can be called catchy). Next, industrial darkwave (Collide, L'Ame Immortelle, Leandra, Mortiis).
Now on to my favorite - neoclassical darkwave. Chaostar has that nice creepy feel to it, and there are other good bands such as Narsilion, Stoa, WeltenBrand, etc. but my favorite is still Dargaard. They just can't be beaten. Yes, their stuff is a bit repetitive in each song, but I actually like that.
Some people named some other stuff so I'll toss in some plain gothic stuff as well. For a nice gothic classical (if you will) sound, I highly recommend Ashram, Dark Sanctuary, and La Pianiste Qui Rêvait D'humanité (if you can find it). Dark Sanctuary has some of the most beautiful yet chilling songs I've ever heard.
If you're really into creepy stuff, I'd give Dreamlike Horror a shot (gothic metal), or Atrium Carceri (dark ambient).
Lesiëm is kind of interesting - sort of like a dark New Age band. And I must, once again, suggest Elend and Arcana.
