There is a lot of great music to choose from….
My favorite band is Oasis…probably because of the music, the mood the music always puts me in, and the revolution. Anyone else?

Honestly, I don’t consider them Post-Punk/New Wave. I like their music quite a bit, and I’ve noticed that most of the Post-Punk fans on here enjoy the Smiths too. Any idea why this particular band appeals to fans of that particular genre?

A lot of 80s music was crap (though it can be enjoyably crappy).
Some of it is genius. You have to appreciate the way bands took primitive keyboard synthesizers and drum machines and crafted beautiful, catchy pop songs out of them.

So i have heard that alot of record companies are not so much going bankrupt, but are more so losing alot of money as a result of internet downloads! This is a fact, correct? i heard that another piece of the pie will be taken in the new contracts they make you sign! they wanna [...]

I like the genre of music but I’m having a hard time finding some good bands.

Bands like Tears for Fears?
Was it because if the way record companies were then?
Because their electronic/keyboard heavy music didn’t translate well live?
Because the music wasn’t very danceable? Too heady? Too serious?
Anyway, these bands still live on stations like http://www.631Radio.com …
but it seems that music died as fast as Atari did then.

Does anyone know any good indie bands or singers? I’m in the need for some good music. FYI, I’m a huge fan of death cab for cutie, so that should narrow the search down. Oh yeah, and i’m a fan of Tegan and Sara.
ANd for the new wave, i like any new wave.
