Why do some people idolize old metal bands?

I mean, sure, they were great back in the day, but music has evolved since then and whole new waves of bands have come around. It just seems like a good deal of people love older metal but don’t really listen to like any new metal(I’m not refering to numetal, either, which isn’t metal at all). don’t get me wrong, I liek the classics, I just don’t LOVE them. Why do some people still do?

I don’t think there’s a reason or common trend, it’s just that individual’s psyche. Maybe they are older in age, stuck in the past? Maybe they are stubborn and think that the oldies are more original and newbies will never do what they did.
I myself listen to metal, not extremely so, but I love oldies. A lot. But I’m not arrogant like new bands will never be good…

Why not? You’re reasoning is confusing and not very thought out.
What’s wrong with loving the classics? The classics were great, and I know tons of people who love the classics AND new metal. So I don’t really think you’re making a valid point there buddy.

idk. to tell you the truyth, the only old metal band i like right now is led zeppelin, cuz they are awesome. and i listen to new metal(not numetal) too. i think its like how everyone loves the classics cuz they were so awesome, and now you have to get into all these different sub-genres to find anything good. just my theory.
