lonelyxcore hates you because you speak of a scene that’s been around for a long time, and has substance. And he listens to cheap music with FAKE emotion.
Good vid. Many people have the complete wrong idea about what goth is. Deathrock can be a part of goth too, who cares. Keep posting.
Yes, I know that. I don’t recall how much I point out the difference in this video, but this is more of an attempt at explaining the entire subculture quickly and with many generalizations for someone who is completely unfamiliar with it. More of mallcore vs. gothic, although I probably overgeneralize.
I didn’t watch the video but deathrock and goth are two different genres of music. Now I realize there is deathrock music that is deemed as goth, but deathrock is still its own thing.
chain reactions love, it moved on to become a term describing everything from types of architecture, literature, even a certain technique used when forging resistant yet lightweight armour (and so on). Today it’s a subculture, live with it.
LMFAO. Amazing. Basically a redundant statement about another scene that limits the mind. “Goth” is a term to describe a fashion style… it isn’t a way of life.
As for Black and Death Metal not being around Venom had two lp’s at the time of Bauhaus and so did Hell Hammer among other NWOBHM bands and no, I don’t consider them goth or Deathrock. Just saying the scene was starting at that time Heavy Industrial Goth. I should know, I did have their albums at the time.
Actually the original clothes style was more similar to punk. The romantic style of Victorian clothes came later. Also the interest in goth lit came later as well. The early positive punks were more into occult lit.
Goth has continued to evolve and take on many new influences with time.
Actually the name came from the British press calling the positive punk movement (what the early goth scene was called in the UK before it was called goth) gothic. It was the California scene that started around the same time that was called the Deathrock scene. A couple years later the two scenes merged, but originally they didn’t know about each other.

Siouxsie Sioux is fairly much considered the mother of the goth style.
