dude, devo and the pretenders are not new wave. albeit devo had one new wave song, which turned out to be their only hit, it was their worst song (whip it). the pretenders are NOWHERE near new wave.
new wave sucks. it tried to capitalize on punk. and talking heads are art rock, not new wave
