Am I the only teenager who loves metal but dislikes new bands like BFMV?

A metal band, goes by the name of Bullet for my “Valentine”?! I dislike there music although I don’t think its bad, though its just not to my taste (Not heavy/fast enough, average singing that sounds like it should be on a pop punk song and then its followed by lame screaming)
There band name already ruined the experience for me “Valentine” sounds so misplaced in a Metal band, ughhh. Ok ok, I wont use this as a valid point as I know its wrong to judge a book by its cover….
How these guys were inspired by speed metal legends Megadeth beats me, they de-tune there guitars and sing really girlish in most of there songs, that’s my problem… Its not manly Vocals =[ (which just ruins the dark aggressive Metal atmosphere all together, at least if there gonna attempt to sing they should be able to sound like gods first(aka: Flotsam and Jetsam, Iron Maiden)
I wouldn’t have a problem if BMFV would just admit they ain’t a true metal band, Im offended these guys have managed to be considered Thrash…. Plus there fan base is pathetic, 80% are teeny bopper girls and the other 20% are guys just trying to “fit in”.
But don’t worry BMFV fans, Its not just your band that I think sucks – instead its actually 99% of these new bands emerging from the scene…. (A7X, Trivium, etc)
Trivium = Poop (The next metallica? Get fucked! I heard the song Dying in Your Arms and I thought, this is so gay!)
Ok so maybe Im being a little Bias, I love my Thrash (New wave and old) But hate all these poser bands, so Im curious ANYONE out there aged 13-19 who hates these new metal bands but bums off the oldschoolers like me? And can anyone actually give me a detailed reason as to why I shouldnt be slagging any of these bands off?

There big headed bafoons with terrible vocals and unorginal riffing… How the hell can they be better than Metallicas roots? The worst song on Tallicas debut could easily take on anything considerd Triviums best (In my oppinion).

and i hate BFMV and those Asshole New bands !!

Trivium is better then Metallica, but besides, that your right about A7X and BFMV. Also listen to Children of Bodom, THAT is good metal!!!!

but i like BFMV and im not trying to fit in. I’m like the only one i know who listens to them.

I love metal, and I absoluetly hate BFMV. But there is so much good modern metal too!

hell no. im 15 and i despise radio music and the new band like a7x, trivium, and bullet for my valentine. its not real metal and how these guys can be considered metal is beyond me.
my favorite bands include testament, exodus, megadeth, slayer, overkill, flotsam and jetsam (which is really freakin awesome that you know), iron maiden, judas priest, anthrax, pantera, yeah you get the point.
dont give into these new bands, dont give them money, dont spread their name, and keep headbangin to old school NWOBHM and Thrash

I remember the love for Bullet For My Valentine whent on for literally a week, at my school, like 2 years ago, I’ve heard anything about them since, well besides online.
Honestly, ALL the kids I know (who are goth or emo (actual emos)) like Avenged Sevenfold, The Used, and, well that’s really all I can think of.

I totally agree. Trivium have the worst singing. It sounds pretty lame and the growling is not even close to the real stuff. I doubt that those bands are really Thrash. They might be influenced by the music, but their overall sound is not Thrash. Sometimes the singing sounds a little too melodic and whinny. There are some real metal bands which do it the right way….like Norther (check them out if you haven’t). They usually have death growling but there is some really good epic singing in the middle of the songs, and no, it sounds far from lame.
They are just the popular type of metal these days. Back in the 80′s there was shitty glam metal, now there are bands which try to act all cool and hard, but really aren’t. I prefer most underground metal even though I admit there are a few newer bands from this decade that I listen to.
